Prepared and cooking time: about 30 minutes

Serves: 2-3

Ingredients:
  • 2 pears ( about 350 gr)
  • 350 ml of water
  • 250ml of red wine
  • ½ teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  • 1/3 teaspoon of salt
  • 80-100gr of granulated sugar ( depend on your sweet taste)
Directions:
  • Peel the pear with a vegetable peeler, core it also the seeds and rub the lemon juice on the pear to keep its fresh color.
  • Boil the water in a medium pot with its deep bottom; add salt and suger, then red wine and the cinnamon powder.
  • Put the pears into the pot and cook them in 20 minutes in the medium temperature. Each 10 minutes, turn the pears to be sure that both sides of the pears are absorbed in the water.
  • After 20 minutes, take the pears out of the pot, let them cool while continue to boil the water and red wine to be thick as syrup. The time for boiling is bout 5 minutes or as in your wish of the thickness. Turn off the cooker.
  • Spoon each poached pear into a serving dish; pour the syrup of red wine over the pear. Enjoy.
