There are many tasty recipes with milk products in which included Tiramisu. Tiramisu is one of the interesting names in the cakes list for dessert. With its meaning literally that is “pick me up”, the tiramisu makes many people who are curious so much about. Created by Italian, tiramisu must be special in some ways. And of course any chef, any housewife who love to know this dessert, it is sure that she or he has at least to make this tasty dessert a ten of times in the kitchen.

In the tasty recipes of desserts, tiramisu is considered one of the tasty recipes that is very simple of the ingredients and also the way of making. However, the problem is that, not all people who be successful in the first time when they do this wonderful dessert. The main point to make the dessert is successful that depends on the finger lady cookies which you have in the ingredients. And then it is the way of yours to dip the cookies in the liquid of coffee and rum. Cream cheese and mascarpone are considered the milk products used popularly in making desserts. The combination of two creams make the dessert not to be so thick, not so greasy. Some people choose this combination instead of egg cream because it seems to make the good balance of the tiramisu with its features including the sweetness of the lady finger cookies, the bitterness of the coffee and the greasiness in the cream filling itself of course.

The dessert is better if to be firmed

Serves: 6-8

Ingredients:

For base layers
  • 250ml of coffee liquid
  • 80gr of sugar
  • 80ml of rum
  • 18 lady finger cookies
  • 50-80gr of cocoa powder
For filling with cream cheese and mascarpone
  • 250gr of mascarpone cream
  • 250gr of cream cheese
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla powder or vanilla extract
  • 100gr of sugar powder (you may decrease the amount)
  • 250ml heavy whipping cream
Directions:
Prepare the cream for filling:
  • In a large bowl, grind the cream cheese well. Beat it by the hand mixer for some minutes. After that add the mascarpone cheese. Beat them well for 3 minutes.
  • The next step is to add the powered sugar sifted also the the vanilla powder or vanilla extract into the bowl. Beat them for 5-7 minutes or till the time that the mixture is well mixed.
  • You add the heavy whipping cream into the bowl, beat the mixture for 3 minutes in the level 1 of the speed. Increase the speed to the level 2 for 3 minutes and then beat the mixture with the highest speed for 5 to 7 minutes or till be done well. The time of beating depends on your hand mixer and your room temperature.
  • To check the cream to be done well or not, should taste it. The well done cream cheese frosting has its specific features like softness, mild melting and thickness just a little bit.
Make tiramisu:
  • Firstly, you should choose 2 boxes that have their size that suite the lady finger cookies in the long. Then set the plastic wrap inside, it will help you to be easier to take the tiramisu out of the box.
  • Then next step is that in a large bowl, mix the coffee liquid and sugar and then rum together. Take each lady finger cookie and dip one side of it into the liquid, fast take it up, turn it, set it in the box. Do it to the next cookies to fill the fist layer into the box. By this way, you lady finger cookie is not so wet. The liquid in one side will wet the rest lightly, this makes the tiramisu is not so wet and then.
  • Fill the cream cheese beaten perfectly into the box with the thin or thick layer as you love.
  • Arrange the next layer of the lady finger cookies, and then the layer of cream cheese. The last layer of the tiramisu is the lady finger cookies.
  • Wrap this tiramisu and let it cool in the fridge for 4 hours to be sure that the tiramisu be set completely. It may serve the tiramisu as soon as it is done, however I suppose to keep it in the fridge for 4 hour then the tiramisu is better.
  • After 4 hours, take the tiramisu out of the fridge, open the plastic paper, cover it by a dish, turn the box back and take it, also the plastic wrap out of the tiramisu.

The last step that need to do is to cover the tiramisu with cocoa powder then serve. In the case that not to serve at that time, you can keep the tiramisu in the fridge but without cocoa powder. Just cover the cocoa powder over the tiramisu before enjoying, if not the powder will be wet by the under layers.
