Shrimps with tamarind sauce

Prepared and cooking time: 25 minutes

Serve: 3-4 servings

Ingredients: 
  • 300 g shrimp
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt
  • ½ cup of cold water
  • 2-3 spoon of tamarind sauce ( Please see how to make the tamarind sauce here)
  • 1 spoon of chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of margarine (butter unsalted or cooking oil may be used instead)
  • Minced onion, minced garlic
  • Minced scallion, coriander and ground pepper
Directions: 
  • Heat your pan, smelt the margarine to smelt it. Add the minced onion and garlic to be cooked.
  • Add the shrimps into the pan and stir them gently. Don’t forget to add some salt to the shrimp. After 3 minutes, add your tamarind sauce into the pan, stir them gently again. The time to cook is about 3-5 minutes continuously. In the case that the shrimps are so stick by the sauce, you can add 2 or 3 spoon of water. Continue to cook till the time the sauce boiling, turn off your stove.
  • Spoon the shrimp cooked into a dish, add some ground pepper, and then minced scallion, also coriander.
  • Enjoy the warm shrimps in tamarind sauce together with steamed rice or bread sliced. It is light sour and sweet, spice enough to make your dish be warm in the tongue.
